Not Quite a Canon...

Technology today gives us so many opportunities to take pictures when a camera may not be accessible. No, I did not catch this with my canon, I actually took this shot with my phone's camera. I forgot my camera the night of this bonfire so in desperate measures I had to pull out the cell. I personally think it is still an excellent photograph. The colors and the pure warmth that you see in this photo is mesmerizing. I pulled this photo up on my phone and was just entranced. My first thought, "wow" and then another came to mind...

What a Slacker Am I

I never realized how much a job would take over, I started this blog thinking, "oh I have all the time in the world," then I got a part time job. Given, I am complete blessed to have a job but I had to get back to blogging. It is the closest I can get to consistent writing like I use to do for the yearbook and newspaper.
So, I have been a slacker with my blogs but I can honestly say I have not been a slacker with the camera. I have had some exceptional moments to get some shots and fall has only made that easier.

Something We Take for Granted

This picture I took takes my breathe away every time. I know people have visited the moon and gone to outerspace...but that is not what takes my breathe away. Recently in bible study we watched the video, "Case for a Creator" I think is what it was called and it made so many great points. All of this led to me thinking, "do we take for granted the perfection of how God created the Earth and the Universe??"

With the moon, and essentially the placement of the earth in our solar system just amazes me. The way the moon is placed in the Earth's gravitational pull is perfect. Just millimeters closer and the moon would collide with the Earth. Just millimeters farther and the Earth's gravitational pull would not be strong enough to keep ahold of it. Same with the gravitational pull of the moon. It was placed so precisely that we have ocean tides. Its phases are essential to the way our calendar works...why would we base our calendars on it if it wasn't precise? As soon as I hear these facts I think, shoot how could someone not see there is at least one ultimate creator? Then, there is the placement of the Earth in proximity to our Sun. Just a little bit closer and we would be a hot planet like Mar or Venus and not be able to retain life. Just a little bitter farther away and our planet would freeze. The placement of our planet in the solar system is just the beginning to why the Earth is the only planet with life. Just with the science you can prove there is a creator

God as the Creator...
Just how God created the heavens and the earth. How He separated the water from the dry land. He created, molded and placed the animals of the land, sea and sky. How He brought the dirt together to mold and shape a human being. Do we take for granted all of these things? I hope not...I hope we take advantage and show others through us (His creation also) and through the world around us there is a God.

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1

Simple Worship

When is the last time you simply worshiped? Whether it be singing, praying or just reverend silence...What a blessing it is to be able to simply worship. We as American's take advantage of that blessing constantly. In other countries people have to hide their worship. Here we can worship in everything we do. Now sometimes how we worship may come off kind of weird to the people of the world but it still is just simple worship. I know in China people have to hide their praise with code words and basically in silence. Here, we can shout to the rooftops and standout in a radical way! Just simply WORSHIP! The sad thing is we never do it and if we do we don't do it enough. We don't take full advantage of our freedom, our liberty, our rights. We were given the right to freedom of religion and we have that.

Liberty
This past weekend Hampton Heights Baptist Church had an amazing celebration and ultimately worship. We spent the whole day Saturday giving the community a block party.

Backyard Surprises

This weekend was full of awe moments. First of all, I HAVE AN INTERVIEW. What a blessing that is. Secondly, something I'll blog more on later, Sunday was Hampton Heights Baptist's 60th anniversary. 60 years in the ministry is  more than an amazing feet in today's world. We all only hope that we can continue ministering in our community.

In today's society we are constantly running, pushing ourselves to go fast, do faster, and everything is hurried. We often over look the unique and simple creations. Things that God took great detail to create. Our busy lives distract us from so much. God created so many amazing things. Each of them unique in their own way.We often times are so unaware of what God has created and the many blessings that we have in our lives and sometimes those blessings are just in our backyard. Those does days we actually stop and slow down, those creations just surprise us.

Unexplained Growth

My Dad's Design
It all begins with a seed. One single seed and something grows. A flower, a vine, a tree, or even food. It is just another one of the blessings that God gave us from the beginning of life.

9 And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:9
Every year my dad gets out in the yard and digs, pulls and plants. He relaxes and gets a little dirty. He takes different parts of God's gifts and cares for them.  We set up a water system, we weed the yard and we check each area daily to make sure it everything is going alright. Just like God does in our lives.

What is the amazing part and ultimately the blessing is His little surprises...
